SALEM, MASS. – The Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) invites students to explore the science and creativity behind the exhibitionSizing It Up: Scale in Nature and Art, with a weeklong festival taking place Monday, February 15, through Friday, February 19, from 10:30 am to 4 pm daily.

Join us as we shrink things down to get new perspectives on the world around us. Take part in collaborative art making, workshops, performances, and presentations.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15

Collaborative Art Making | Galactic Mural-ing | 10:30 AM – 4 PM |Atrium

Join Sizing It Up artist and painter Jill Pabich to create an installation of the cosmos. Make your own galactic-inspired art using photos by astrophotographer Robert Gendler.

Story Time | Tiny Creatures: The World of Microbes | 10:30 – 11 AM|Bartlett Gallery

All around us are millions of microscopic creatures, but what are they, and what would they look like if we could see them?

Drop-In Art Making |Mini-Scenes with a Big Appetite |10:30 AM – 12:30 PM & 1 – 3 PM|Create Space

Create your own mini-scene inspired by Sizing It Up artist Christopher Boffoli’s Big Appetites series using tiny figures in a food landscape. Then snap a photograph and write your own clever title.
