Moments of Play is Salem Theatre Company’s annual innovative festival of ten-minute plays. Created in 2006, MoP as it is affectionately called, aims to give a new arena to playwrights and first time theatre artists.

Following Saturday’s performance will be a Play Response Session with nationally recognized playwright Kate Snodgrass. Kate Snodgrass is the Artistic Director of the Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, and author of award-winning plays: Haiku, Observatory, and The Glider, which won a 2005 IRNE Award for Best New Play. Acknowledged by StageSource in 2001 as a Theatre Hero, Snodgrass is a former Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) National Chair of the Playwriting Program, a former vice president of StageSource, Inc., and a member of Actors’ Equity, A.F.T.R.A., and the Dramatists Guild. A former playwriting fellow with the Huntington Theatre Company Additionally she is the co-founder of the Elliot Norton Award-winning Boston Theater Marathon which has served as the long time inspiration for Moments of Play.
