Bruce Whear, Silly Theatre Productions/ Accidentally on Purpose

1) Tell us a bit about you and what you do?
I started Silly Theatre Productions so that I would have an entity that might encompass the many theatre/entertainment vehicles I’m involved in. I’ve performed locally/regionally on stage/film/print for multiple productions over the last 50+ years. I served on the board of the original Salem Theatre Company, and am presently on the Marblehead Little Theatre’s board where I have been affiliated since the early seventies.
2) What do you love the most about Silly Theatre Productions?
I truly love to service & entertain people. Having run a service company for almost 40 years, this is second nature to me to meet my clients’ needs. Connecting people/business with an entertainment source brings me great joy & satisfaction.
3) How does Silly Theatre Productions contribute to the Creative Economy?
Through our unique Improv Comedy Troupe, we have trained & offered performance opportunities to talent & audiences alike for the past 6 years. My family has attended countless performance’s of any number of entertainers for decades & will continue to do so.
4) What’s your favorite part of Silly Theatre Productions?
I love to make people laugh. Watching my mom laugh at Candid Camera when I was a young boy made me know exactly how I wanted to spend my life. The planning & execution of practical jokes is something I enjoy & can uniquely design & do. Weddings, birthdays or corporate events: I offer this niche form of entertainment.
5) What’s the one thing people wouldn’t know about you or (your business)?
I additionally own & operate Wire 4 Hire electrical Contractors of Salem. I have always dried my laundry by hanging.
