Information about the 2017 Christmas in Salem tours.

Christmas in Salem, thought to be the nation’s longest running holiday house tour, invites visitors to tour historic homes in the Downtown and McIntire neighborhood from December 1–3, 2017. Homes will be beautifully decorated for the holiday season and will be open for tours throughout the weekend.

A Preview of 4 of the 13 houses will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 5:30–8:30 pm and will feature selected homes. On Saturday, December 2 from 10:30 am–4:30 pm and Sunday, December 3 from 11:30 am–4:30 pm all sites will be open for tours.

Christmas in Salem has become far more than a house tour. It’s now a citywide event for both residents and out-of-town visitors. There are local attractions, walking tours, live music, and hotel discounts available for all tour goers. In 2017, there will also be a few new surprises to add to the festive atmosphere.

This year marks the 38th anniversary of Historic Salem, Inc.’s largest fundraiser. Always held the first weekend in December, Christmas in Salem is a wonderful opportunity to visit one of the region’s most storied city. Christmas in Salem encourages tour goers to enjoy everything the city has to offer, including local restaurants and shops during the holiday season. A complimentary trolley takes visitors from downtown parking locations to the tour route, providing historical information and a festive ride that will get everyone in the holiday spirit.
Tickets may be purchased in advance beginning on Monday, October 16, 2017, by clicking here or by calling Historic Salem, Inc. at 978.745.0799. Deadline for advance ticket sales is Thursday, November 30 at midnight.

Christmas in Salem is presented by Historic Salem, Inc. an advocacy group dedicated to preserving Salem’s historic resources and educating the community to their value.
